The Booking Support Bureau is responsible for booking-in and booking-out of inmates. This includes receiving and storing inmate property, receipt, deposit and management of inmate funds, processing bonds and bail, recording and filing court orders that relate to inmate court dates, sentencing, and release from this facility, and active and archived inmate records.

The Booking Support Bureau at the ACSO/DOJ is comprised of two main sections:

Inmate Property Section - This is the first stop for arrestees when they enter the jail. Inmate property is responsible for the first part of the booking process. The property officers set up the booking record, receive and record property from the arrestees. If the persons are retained after first appearance - they come back through property where we take the rest of their clothes and property from them and issue them a uniform. If the arrestees are not retained their property is returned and they are released. For more information call (352) 491-4444 ext. 2851

Processing Section - Adds the charges and other information to the inmates record, sets up an active file which will follow the inmate from the time they arrive until they leave. If, and when the inmate returns then the file is reactivated. This inmate processing section also handles the inmates money for bonds and commissary. This section is also responsible for checking for active warrants and other criminal history information and they work directly with the courts to schedule court appearances, coordinate judgments that result in sentencing, release or transfer.
