When to call 9-1-1:

  1. 9-1-1 is for law enforcement, fire or medical emergencies only….whenever an IMMEDIATE response is required
  2. If you are unsure how serious a situation is, call 9-1-1. There is no fee or cost for placing a call to 9-1-1, so do not hesitate to use it for emergencies.

When to call the Non-Emergency Number (352-955-1818)

If you DO NOT NEED AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE to a law enforcement, fire or medical emergency, please call the non-emergency number at 352-955-1818.Using the non-emergency number of 352-955-1818 helps keep the 9-1-1 lines available for persons reporting emergencies.
