The Human Resources Bureau is an applicant’s first point of contact to assist them with any questions regarding future employment with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. The ACSO offers a wide variety of career opportunities for individuals interested in law enforcement, corrections, 9-1-1 emergency operators and support staff positions. We offer opportunities to serve your community in many different ways. In both certified and support positions will assist others in need, provide protective services when necessary, and offer guidance and example to the youth of the community.
SALARY/BENEFITS - The ACSO provides a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their families that includes health, dental, vision and life insurance. Employees accrue annual and sick leave and are eligible for tuition reimbursement. View our Salary/Benefits for more details.
TRAINING – The ACSO provides some of the most comprehensive training available in law enforcement and corrections. The equipment, facilities and instructors are superior. If what you need is not available through our agency, the George Kirkpatrick Law Enforcement Training Center offers a variety of courses approved by FDLE. VOLUNTEER/INTERNS – The ACSO offers individuals the opportunity to volunteer within the different Divisions and Bureaus within the agency. If you wish to volunteer with religious or dependency programs, you may contact Chaplin Grant Smith at 352-491-4449. For specialized or educational programs you may contact Maggie Donnell at 352-491-4449. Students wishing to complete internships may contact Human Resources at 352-367-4040.
ATMOSPHERE – The ACSO will allow individuals the opportunity to work with some of the most professional law enforcement, correctional and support personnel in the area.
