Approved Inmate Property

Inmates may have the following items in their possession:

One (1) each: mattress, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, towel, wash cloth, uniform (general population), *gym shorts (white only), *thermal underwear or pajamas (white only), *tennis shoes (any color), *shower slides, Bible or Koran, address book, prescription eye glasses

Two (2) each: sheets, uniforms (trusty)

Three (3) each: *brassiere (white only, no under wire, women only)

Four (4) each: library books/magazines

Five (5) each: *underwear (white only), *t-shirts, socks

NOTE: *These items can be obtained from Commissary.

Items approved by an extra property form.

You may keep a blue pen and a writing tablet, and a reasonable amount of legal materials and letters. If in possession upon arrest you may keep a plain religious cross/medallion/wedding band. These items may not have stones of any kind in them.

You must have prior approval on items that are not sold in commissary or given to you by jail staff.

Extra Property

Items other than previously listed must be requested for approval by submitting an extra property form. These forms can be obtained through property or in the housing unit. Provide a full explanation as to why these items are needed.

These items requested must be approved by the Security Division Captain or, if requested, for medical reasons, the facility physician and the Security Division Captain.

Incoming Property

Hand delivered packages will not be accepted except for one set of Court clothes, no sooner than seven (7) days before jury trial or trial. All other reasons for Court clothes must come from your attorney.

Shoes not provided by Commissary (due to limited sizes) may be mailed into the facility with the approval of the property sergeant. Only basic, inexpensive tennis shoes will be allowed.

Inmate Property and Money Release

If an inmate wishes to release his/her property to friends or relatives, a property release form must be completed and signed by the inmate and submitted. Get the form from the duty post officer.

When this is completed all of your property not in your immediate possession must be released. The only exception is one complete set of clothes to dress in upon release from this facility may be retained.

Money can be released from your account only one (1) time during your incarceration. Repeated releases will not be approved.
